How Quickly Can Care Be Set Up?

๐Ÿ“… 10 February 2026 ๐Ÿ• 4 min read

The speed at which care can be arranged depends on the urgency of the situation and the complexity of the person's needs. In most cases, home care can be set up within a few days. For urgent situations, many providers can arrange care within 24 to 48 hours.

The process typically begins with an initial enquiry โ€” a phone call or online form where you share basic information about the person's needs. This is followed by a care assessment, usually conducted in the person's home, which can often be arranged within one to two days of the initial contact.

Once the assessment is complete and the care plan has been agreed, the agency will match appropriate carers and arrange the first visit. For straightforward cases, this can happen within 24 hours of the assessment. More complex cases โ€” such as those requiring specialist skills or live-in care โ€” may take a few days longer to ensure the right carer is found.

Emergency or urgent care situations, such as a sudden hospital discharge or a family carer becoming unwell, are given priority. Most good agencies maintain a pool of experienced carers who can step in at short notice to provide immediate support while longer-term arrangements are put in place.

At GoCarely, we understand that care needs often arise unexpectedly. We are structured to respond quickly, with a dedicated rapid response team for urgent cases. From your first call, we aim to have care in place as quickly as possible โ€” without compromising on the quality of the assessment or the suitability of the carer match.
